ABOUT US
In 1983, a parish food pantry was started as an outreach ministry from St. Luke and St Paul’s United Methodist Churches, and was located in the St. Luke Church building at 116 South West Street. It served the westside community of York City. Since then it has served thousands of persons in the West end and beyond. As the ministry grew, the Susquehanna Conference of the United Methodist Church and the York District supported the creation of The WELL, to continue serving the growing needs of the community.
The WELL provides food including meat, dairy, produce, dry groceries, and drinks. We also provide diapers, formula and baby food, personal care, feminine products, and prescription assistance 1x a year with a maximum of $125. Emergency services provided upon request.
